Classic Luxury and Nostalgia

Luxury library interior design

A luxurious renovation to create a beautiful library in a prestigious riverside mansion, respecting the historical style of the property whilst ensuring the rooms were transformed to the requirements of the client.

The owner of this 13th century mansion in Buckinghamshire was looking to create a classic library and study area to read, relax, work and keep valuable first edition books protected.
Every detail was considered carefully in this traditional renovation. A bespoke walnut desk with leather inlay was fashioned, as well as the matching walnut framed armchairs in teal. This deluxe interior evokes a classic and nostalgic feel, yet the glass fronted bookcase is stunningly backlit to store first edition books needing special care.

"Listened to what I wanted and came up with the perfect design. Very happy with the final outcome, would definitely recommend and use again."

The french grey colour scheme is soft and sophisticated, consistent throughout the room in the bespoke painted bookshelves, integrated shelving and cabinets and built-in storage. Patterned blinds add texture and detail to the interior, whilst walnut furniture brings together this indulgently relaxing room. An unusual project which allowed imaginative yet practical interior design, this library was a huge success with the client.

"Nicola Scannell Design are a highly creative, professional team who are a joy to be involved with, they deliver impressive results, on time, with efficiency and good humour."
